Oceanic Subduction

I wanted asymmetry to feel like a force rather than an accident. I brought rounded and fractured forms together as though one were slipping beneath the other. For me, this piece holds the tension of a landscape that has not settled.

Materials and specifications: Solid 925 Sterling Silver, Tahitian Keshi Pearl, Blue Sapphire, Grapefruit Sapphire; Size: HK 15 (approx. US 7.25); Weight: 20.8g. Hand-carved wax casting, oxidized dark patina.
